How a portal user allocates a subscription’s benefits to other contacts on their account, including adding a new contact and assigning benefits from the Subscription Hub.
From the Subscription Hub you can assign a subscription’s benefits to other contacts on your account. You reach this flow from the Manage Subscription view, which opens the Manage Benefits page. Only contacts that belong to the subscription’s account can be allocated benefits.
You need both view and manage access. The benefits view loads only when your contact role appears in the subscription product’s Subscription Visibility (FS_PORTAL_Subscription_Visibility__c) and Manage Subscription (FS_PORTAL_Manage_Subscription__c) settings. Without both, the page reports that you do not have access.
The account has no contacts to allocate. The view errors if the subscription’s account has no contacts. Add a contact first using Add New Contact.
Only the account’s own contacts can be allocated. The list of allocatable contacts is limited to contacts on the subscription’s account — you cannot allocate a benefit to someone outside it.
Freed allocations may or may not return to the subscription. Whether removing an allocation makes that benefit available again depends on the subscription product’s configuration. If you expect a freed allocation to become reusable and it does not, check the product setup with your administrator.
