Enable logged-in members to access your fusionCore portal site and assign their permissions.
An authenticated portal user is a member who logs in to your Experience Cloud site with their own credentials. You enable one the standard Salesforce way — turn a Contact into a customer user — then assign the fusionCore portal permissions. fusionCore recognizes the logged-in member at runtime and tailors its components to them; the profile sections, for example, show that member’s own Account and Contact data.
On the Contact record, click Enable Customer User.

Validate and save the new user
Review the New User Information, then click Save.
The user creating the customer user must have a role assigned. Without one, Salesforce throws an error and the save fails.
3
Assign the portal permission set group
In Setup, search for Users in the Quick Find box and select it. Click the new community user, then assign the fusionCore - Portal User permission set group. Delivered by the fusionCore Layouts package, this group bundles the member-facing portal permission sets — My Orders, My Profile, My Subscriptions, Checkout, Installments, Cancel/Renew/Manage Subscription, My Wallet, Payment Confirmation, and roster access — so a member gets everything they need from a single assignment rather than from individual permission sets.
Your own user needs a role before creating customer users. If the running user has no role assigned, the customer user save fails with an error. Assign a role first.
A portal user with no permission set group sees little. The fusionCore - Portal User permission set group grants the access the portal components rely on. Assign it, or the member’s profile and other portal pages will not load correctly.
