Ending a benefit expires the allocation. The End Benefit quick action sets Benefit_End_Date__c to today and changes Benefit_Status__c to Expired.

Open the Benefit Allocation
Open a Benefit Allocation record detail page.

Click End Benefit
At the top-right, click End Benefit.

Confirm and finish
Confirm that ending the benefit is what you want to do, then click Yes and click Finish.
Confirming that you want to end the benefit
Whether ending an allocation frees up the slot for a new beneficiary depends on the Product’s Restore Allocation to Purchase Activity setting (Restore_Allocation_to_Purchase_Activity__c). When that box is checked, the expired allocation stops counting toward the Purchase Activity’s Active Beneficiaries (Active_Beneficiaries__c), which frees the slot. When it is unchecked, the slot stays consumed.
