How to Create a Benefit Allocation

1

Open the Purchase Activity

Navigate to the Purchase Activity record detail page.
  • In the Benefits section of the details, the Active Beneficiaries field (Active_Beneficiaries__c) shows how many beneficiaries are currently assigned.
  • The Maximum Allocations field (Maximum_Allocations__c) shows the maximum number of beneficiaries allowed on this Purchase Activity. This is the cap copied from the Product, and it is the limit enforced for this purchase.

Limitations and Common Pitfalls

  • You cannot exceed Maximum Allocations. Adding more beneficiaries than the Purchase Activity’s Maximum Allocations is blocked with a validation error.
  • Benefit dates must match the subscription. The benefit start and end dates must match the subscription’s start and end dates.
  • Only eligible Contacts appear. The selector shows only active Contacts on the Account that do not already have an active allocation for the same Purchase Activity.
