How Benefit Allocations Carry Over on Renewal

Carrying over benefit allocations on renewal is automatic. It is not a setting you turn on. When a subscription renews, fusionCore clones each active allocation onto the renewed Purchase Activity, re-pointing the clone to the new Purchase Activity and applying the new dates. An allocation is carried over only when its Benefit_End_Date__c matches the prior Purchase Activity’s grace-period end date — in other words, when the benefit ran for the full term. Off-cycle or mid-term allocations, whose end date does not line up with the grace-period end, are not carried over. The steps below walk through a subscription renewal so you can see the carried-over allocations on the new Purchase Activity.

Only active allocations whose end date matched the prior Purchase Activity’s grace-period end date are carried over. Expired allocations and off-cycle or mid-term allocations are not carried over.

Limitations and Common Pitfalls

  • Carry-over is selective. It is automatic, but an allocation only carries to the renewed subscription when its end date matches the prior Purchase Activity’s grace-period end date. Off-cycle or mid-term allocations are not carried over.
