Overview

Revising an installment plan rebuilds it. When you revise, fusionCore deletes the pending installments and cancels any failed ones, then generates a fresh schedule. Installments that have already succeeded are left untouched and carry over to the new schedule. Because the existing pending installments are deleted, any manual edits you made to them — changed dates or payment methods — are lost when you revise.

How to Revise an Installment Plan

Open Manage Installments

On the Order, click Manage Installments. You can find Orders on the Orders tab, or search for the Order in the App Launcher at the top left of the screen.

Make your changes

Edit the pending installments as needed. You can adjust every aspect of a pending installment here.Installments that have already been paid (succeeded) cannot be edited and will carry over unchanged to the new schedule.

Update the plan

When you are satisfied, click Update Installment Plan to save your changes.

Updating the plan deletes the existing pending installments and cancels any failed ones before regenerating. Any manual edits to pending installments — dates or payment methods you changed by hand — are lost. Installments that have already succeeded are not affected.

Limitations and Common Pitfalls

  • Regenerating deletes pending installments. A revise removes the current pending installments and replaces them. Manual edits to those pending installments do not survive the revise.
  • Failed installments are cancelled, not preserved. Installments in a Failed state are cancelled during a revise. Only succeeded installments carry over.
  • The same generation blocks apply. A revise generates a new plan, so the same Order-state restrictions from Creating Installments apply (for example, a quote-and-activated Order or a voided Order).
  • The Order roll-up fields are formula-driven. Next_Installment_Date__c and Next_Installment_Balance_Due__c are formula fields and cannot be edited directly; they recalculate from the regenerated plan.
