Overview
A Wallet Item is a saved payment method tied to a contact, used to pay for Orders quickly without re-entering card or bank details every time. Each Wallet Item is a CommerceFCORE_PAY__Wallet_Item__c record. The payment details themselves live in Stripe; Salesforce stores only the minimum needed to charge that method again (the last four digits, card type, expiration, a provider token, and similar metadata).
Wallet Items are a Commerce feature. The object, the wallet UI, and the controllers behind it are all part of the managed Commerce (FCORE_PAY) package. As a Staff user, you create and manage a contact’s Wallet Items directly from the contact’s Wallet action. Portal members manage their own saved methods through the managed Portal wrapper — see Wallet Item Page.
As of version 1.5, the supported saved payment types are Stripe Card and ACH.
Wallet Items require a configured and validated Payment Provider Account (
FCORE_PAY__Payment_Provider_Account__c) for Stripe. The wallet draws its saved methods from that account, so without one there is nothing for the wallet to store or display. See Stripe. Before You Start
- Configure and validate Stripe so a Payment Provider Account exists.
- Assign the
FC Commerce - Access To Pay With Wallet Itemspermission set to any staff user who pays with a saved method.
